Start-Up Visa (SUV) Program

The Start-Up Visa (SUV) Program is designed for innovative entrepreneurs who want to establish a business in Canada and gain permanent residency. At Ly Immigration and Citizenship Consulting Inc. (LYICC), we specialize in guiding entrepreneurs through this program, from the initial idea to the successful launch of their business in Canada.

What is the SUV Program?

The Start-Up Visa Program is a unique immigration pathway that allows entrepreneurs to:

  • Gain permanent residency in Canada.

  • Establish or expand a high-growth business in Canada.

  • Secure a Letter of Support from designated organizations, such as business incubators, angel investor groups, or venture capital firms.

This program is ideal for entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas that have the potential to create jobs and compete on a global scale.

Step-by-Step Process

1. Initial Consultation & Eligibility Assessment

  • What We Do:
We begin with a detailed consultation to assess your business idea, background, and eligibility for the Start-Up Visa Program. We evaluate your business concept, experience, and financial capacity to ensure it aligns with the program’s requirements.

  • What You Need:
Be prepared to discuss your business idea, previous entrepreneurial experience, and any existing connections to Canada.

2. Business Plan Development

  • What We Do:
Our team of experts will work with you to refine your business concept and develop a strong business plan that meets the requirements of designated organizations. Your business plan will highlight the innovation, scalability, and economic benefits of your business to Canada.

  • What You Need:
Provide as much detail as possible about your business idea, including market research, financial projections, and a clear value proposition.

3. Securing a Letter of Support

  • What We Do:
We connect you with designated organizations (business incubators, angel investor groups, or venture capital firms) that can provide the required Letter of Support. We assist you in pitching your business idea and negotiating terms with these organizations.

  • What You Need:
Be prepared to present your business idea to potential investors or incubators. We will guide you on how to make a compelling pitch.

4. Application Submission

  • What We Do:
Once you have secured a Letter of Support, we assist you in preparing and submitting your Start-Up Visa application to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). We ensure that all required documents, including your business plan, Letter of Support, and proof of funds, are complete and accurate.

  • What You Need:
Provide all necessary personal and business documents, including proof of language proficiency (IELTS or CELPIP) and proof of settlement funds.

5. Work Permit (Optional)

  • What We Do:
If you wish to start working on your business in Canada while your PR application is being processed, we can help you apply for a temporary work permit. This allows you to begin establishing your business and networking in Canada.

  • What You Need:
Provide proof of your Letter of Support and other required documents for the work permit application.

6. Permanent Residence Processing

  • What We Do:
We monitor the progress of your PR application and provide additional support if required. We keep you informed at every stage and ensure that any requests from IRCC are promptly addressed.

  • What You Need:
Be prepared to provide any additional documents or information requested by IRCC during the processing of your application.

7. Business Launch & Settlement Support

  • What We Do:
Once your PR application is approved, we assist you in launching your business in Canada. This includes guidance on business incorporation, networking, and compliance with Canadian regulations. We also provide settlement support to help you and your family adjust to life in Canada.

  • What You Need:
Be ready to take the necessary steps to establish your business, such as registering your company, opening a business bank account, and hiring employees.
